STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Event coordinator Tammie Beale is ready to party — but she has a purpose.
“Cufflinks & Cocktails” comes to life from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, in Above Rooftop Lounge at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield.
Tammie says it’s as much about social awareness as social networking, and more than 300 community leaders, politicos and all-around “business-minded” people from Staten Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan are expected to attend.
Proceeds from the business casual event benefit Staten Island Strong: Historical Black College & Universities (HBCU), of which Maurice Hyde is president.
“Considering the issues affecting the African-American community this year, we all need to be more aware,” Tammie says. “But when we come together, we are bridging gaps in all Staten Island communities.
More about social awareness hosted by Uncle Chase! Entertainment and Jamieson Daniels of 2XGrown with DJ NYCE and decor director Kim King.
Although these types of mixers have been thriving at the Hilton for more than a year, this is the first huge fundraiser at Above Rooftop, Tammie adds.
