‘Cufflinks and Cocktails’ Networking Event Expands

Business leaders in the borough are organizing a new networking opportunity taking place next month.

“Cufflinks and Cocktails” was started as an effort within the African-American community to promote economic leadership but it evolved into an event for professionals of all backgrounds.

Proceeds from the meet and greet will be donated to local non-profit Staten Island Strong for student field trips to historic black colleges.

Organizers say they hope this event will improve race relations across the Island.

“We’re bridging gaps between communities here on Staten Island and building more business relationships,” said event coordinator Tammie Beale.

“Just be together and not really talk about politics and not really talk about all the bad things that have been happening – but business; how can we do business together? That’s the key,” said Richard Nicotra of the Hilton Garden Inn.
