The Nicotra Group, LLC, Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island, Hampton Inn & Suites, Lorenzo’s Restaurant, Bar & Cabaret, Nicotra’s Ballroom and Nicotra properties in The Corporate Park of Staten Island support the community and environment through The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation and Bloomfield Conservancy.
The Bloomfield Conservancy is a not-for-profit corporation created to maintain and preserve the wetlands within the Corporate Park of Staten Island and maintain and beautify the public areas around the Corporate Park, including the median on South Avenue. The Bloomfield Conservancy strives to promote the preservation and protection of the environment, wetlands and endangered trees and knowledge of local plant and animal life within the Conservancy.
BEFORE:
“Fifteen years ago, this area was a wasteland where everyone dumped their tires and burnt cars,” Richard Nicotra explains. “Now there are hundreds of businesses at Corporate Park, and thousands of people who work here.”
AFTER:
“Together we protect this section of Bloomfield from potential damage, clean-up and maintain the site, provide information to people of all ages that will promote the preservation and protection of the environment, wetlands, and endangered trees and promote knowledge of the local plant and animal life.”
Con Edison donated $10,000 to the Bloomfield Conservancy. On hand for the ceremony were Katia Gordon, Con Edison’s Director of Staten Island Regional and Community Affairs (Pictured Center,) and hoteliers Lois & Richard Nicotra, founders of the conservancy.
