The COMMONS café, located at the Teleport in Bloomfield, was host on Thursday to The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation Awards Ceremony, during which $45,850 in grants and scholarships were awarded to more than 50 community organizations, schools and individuals.
Profits from the COMMONS café, whose motto is “Eat Good. Do Good.” are used entirely to benefit the foundation.
Founded in 2011, the Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation aids non-profit organizations on Staten Island, while also providing scholarship assistance to the Nicotras’ employees’ children and grandchildren.
Since its inception, the foundation has awarded a total of $367,912.
