New Medical Building Opens in Bloomfield

A new medical building opens in Bloomfield and the owner announce another project is in the works.

Building owners, Richard and Lois Nicotra, welcomed tenants like Northwell Health and Richmond University Medical Center to the new 20 million dollar facility at 1130 South Avenue on Thursday. They also announced a new project, Corporate Commons 3, to be built on the nearby Teleport. The 240,000 square foot building will include a wellness center, an Italian restaurant which will donate its proceeds to charity and a roof top farm. Construction on that project is expected to begin in 2017. Meanwhile, the couple also unveiled a large Love sculpture Thursday created by artist Patrick Wiesel.

“We’re hoping people that come to the Hilton or the Hampton will come to this new medical building will see the word love and maybe it’ll have them think about maybe I’ll be a little nicer today,” said Richard Nicotra.

Corporate Commons 3 will be built on a nine acre plot of land the Nicotra’s recently purchased from the Port Authority for $3.6 million.
